Vacation?!? Maybe?!? BOTCON!!!!

So It's been a LONG 2 1/2 years!! We are coming to the end of our layoff journey soon hopefully with Jon graduating about the 16th of this month MAYBE we can get something going! So far 2 places have said NO to hiring him but ONE gave him a VERY valid reason, they were full, the other didn't even give him the time of day, just a nice form letter saying "You're not the tech we're looking for" (rolls eyes while reading that last part like obi wan).

We've over come a lot and given up a lot but we have made it this far!! I've been working more hours which has helped and we recently won a contest that is going to give us a chunk of money to pay for Jon's tools that he still needs (I'm still in shock that a single socket can cost over 50 bucks) so things are starting to look up.

So BotCon (the once a year transformers convention) has been announced. We (the entire family, even Lexi) has decided this would be THE vacation to take and it is SOOOO close this year we can taste it! Dallas Texas LOOK OUT the family has it's eyes on you!! LoL

April 26th thru the 29th in downtown Dallas, I just wish that we knew for sure we had the money to go. I'm getting tons of stuff together to sell and we recently started couponing to try and help reduce costs and i'm trying to see how much money i can put back from that.

Lots of stuff happening! Stay tuned folks LoL and you can follow me on twitter jumpstart17.

Autobots! Roll out!!

Gone too long....

We've been insanly busy! Slowly things are getting better, Graduation date is nearing for Jon, I'm getting fairly even hours at work and now all we need is the amazing job offer for the hubby!!!

I'm excited for the things that are upcoming and I've also found a interesting hobby, it's called couponing. I'll have to start posting my deals at some point in time. This is probabily going to be short but I thought it I needed to update to anyone watching.

New venture...

In honor if National teacher day I'm thinking of a new venture in my life.... how about being a reading coach... how about doing that with my puppy! Yup, I've heard of programs like these in other states but we don't have anything like this anywhere near here. So here it is "Reading is Pawsome!" I'm working on getting Siris therapy dog certified (he's almost got everything down except barking at other dogs)

Other than that I'm excited to try this... I've always wanted to make things better for the kids learning to read  and this is a great way to do it.... I can use all the support I can get and I'd love some help... I'm hoping I'm not getting in over my head!

Taxing Tuesday- This weeks projects- Lexi's room

So from now on I'm going to have taxing tuesdays updates for a list of my busy life. We mommies have lots to do in the day and I don't think many people have the exact grasp of what the day entails! My husband is a wonderful man and has always been very understanding and suppotrive of what happens at home and why i can't get some things done during the day So I'm going to start posting my weekly to-do list (hopefully on a regular basis) and then what I've finished by the end of the week/day, ect....

So here we go... This week is going to be about Lexi projects...

We recently remodeled/redid Lexi's room and it went from being blue with butterflies painted on the wall to a wild pink. We had to litterally box everything up and move it to our laundry room and things are slowly moving back in...

#1- I want to get 3 of the 5 boxes moved back into her room (I was able to knock one of these out last night by loading all of her books back into her books case...YAY!!)

#2- Lexi has butterflies, that are big and are made of different cloth and have large beads as the bodies, that hang from her ceiling. Well 3 of the 8 she has bead boddies came off of the cloth... super mommy was asked...no begged... to fix them...

#3- I've told Lexi she has too much stuff in her little room so the first thing she asked was "Can I donate stuff I don't need to people who don't have them!" HALLELUJAH!! So we are going thru the things she has and some of the old clothes are going to a resale shop so she can get a new spring wardrobe (well what I don't want to keep for Ava to grow into) and then a box of the little toys she doesn't want are going to my friend, who's a teacher, for her student prize box

#4- Deliver all these freaking girl scout cookies!

If this doesn't seem like much then, well, you don't know my kid. LoL

Been a while...

It's been a while since I've gotten on and actually updated my little corner of the web. Jon has been busy with school and Lexi and I have been hard at work selling girl scout cookies!

Jon has been doing really well in his classes (we're averaging around a solid B...YAY!) So life has been overall average (no pun intended LoL)

Life as being a working mommy again is proving to be tougher than I thought, but it's helping with the bills which since we got approved for this awesome fix up the energy hog house grant as I call it(which thousands of people get a year in states all over the country) our bills have gone down :-)

Well, this is my few minutes of time of now, going up to help Jon study and spend sometime before bed while the girls are asleep!

Later all!!

New year, new adventure....

Well 2010 is gone and 2011 is off to a heck of a start! We applied for this really cool grant thru the state of kansas to my our house more energy efficent.  They've been doing things to our house like crazy! First thing to go was our evil furnace, which was driving our energy bill thru the roof (over $300 bucks a month). They pulled it out and found holes the size of Jon fists in all of the duct work. Next they moved to the old AC and insulated the walls and  got rid of our fridges and moved us down to one bigger fridge.... so between the grant and our insurance replacing the roof, itz been rather busy.

Jon is also going back to school, he decided on majoring in Auto Repair...

Itz going to be a intresting year....
