Snow/Ice day!!!!

Well we woke up this morning to the wind howling and little sleet balls hitting our windows! The weather is predicting up to 10 inches of snow... SNOW tonight and tomorrow! Well by the time noon rolled around we had about 1/3 inch of ice on the road, and our phone rings... and it's Jon manager! "Hey Carlos, what can I do for you?" says Jon.
"They canceled second and thrid shift today and all saturday work, you can stay home we'll input the time on monday."
"Sounds find to me, what time do I be there on monday?"
"Everyone is going to be here 7am, and the guys that got notices got a 30 day extension, they'll be here too"

We were thrilled!! We're planning a warm yummy dinner and a fire in our fireplace tonight! Nothing like a good cuddle infront of a warm fire and a wonderful man rubbing your (big) tummy!

Bump Pics finally!

Finally got the camera connected to the laptop and it's time for the baby belly to be shown far and wide...This was right about six weeks, the sign said Happy Birthday daddy since we took it on Jan 21st!

And this is 14 weeks... I THINK I AM HUGE!!! I was about this big with Lexi right under 6 months, plus I only gained 30 pounds with her, I've already packed on 10 pounds with little one here. Jon is loving "the bean" bump, We're supposed to find out what gender the baby is the middle of April and until then we call the baby "bean". Lexi was munchkin so we only felt right giving this one a nickname too... we do have names picked out but we're not going to let them out of the bag until we found out what the "Bean" is.

We're also nearing the deadline for the layoff notices from January to kick in on March 31st. Which means one of two things, Jon will be the only person on second shift OR ( this is the worst in my views) they will be moving him to 1st. If they move him to first then he's going to take a (small) paycut... don't get me wrong I AM THRILLED that he still has a Job BUT with only one income and a new baby on the way every little penny helps!

So that every little penny counts I took into account and had a garage sale! All the old Lexi clothes went out the door and some friends of our even donated items to the 'make room for baby" sale! We neted almost $200!!! I was thrilled!! We paid a couple things and I admit it I took Jon and Lexi for a dinner at one of our favorite placed to chow down!! OLD CHICAGO!! If you haven't gone there you must go NOW!! I had the most wonderful chicken salad, italian nachos and cheesey garlic bread (all BIG portions so they were shared with Jon and a little with Lexi) While Lexi had a kiddy bowl of spagetti with meatball (it was huge)!!

In other news the nursery/playroom, thanks to the garage sale, is now almost totally cleaned out!! I'll post pics of this later, the camera isn't liking me right now, mostly because I'm not feeding it batteries! Anyways, Lexi is saying she is hungry and I'm starting to agree! Off to be super mom!

12 Week Check up!

Baby is big from what the dr says. Not big enough that he thinks there is more than 1 but just big enough to know it's probabily going to be bigger than Lexi was. Baby is also sitting lower than what Lexi was, according to the old wives tales that says you're having a boy. Jon's also been calling the baby 'he', and I admit so have I, he said he had a dream not too long ago about playing with his little man... He even said something about he had really dark curly hair. But we're not holding our breath if we have a girl more fun for big sister to dress her up LoL. Baby's heartbeat was a steady 165 and will be heading back in the begining of April then 2 weeks after that we get our next ultrasound and will hopefully find out what the baby is! YEAH!!! Will post again soon!

Fighting off a nasty cold or something!

Well here a couple weeks ago Lexi caught a little cold and the two of us managed to get past that without catching anything but we paid for it the end of this week. Wednesday Jon started to have issues with his sinuses and being the trooper he is took it all in stride, in my experience most men are babies when they get sick but He is the TOTAL opposite! I love this man more everyday!! He went to work and came home with a low grade fever, and my mommy mode set in, I whipped out the Tylenol and cups of water and set up a lukewarm shower one day for him... he loved it, and after fighting it for almost 2 days he came out on top... but my mommying of the man of the house has now bit me in the butt.... I am stuffed up, and coughing so hard it's starting to upset my stomach... Jon is spoiling me rotten, I've really started getting my appetite back today and Jon treated me by getting me a Whopper jr. from burger king.... boy do i love this man.... anyways, hit 12 weeks pregnant today have Dr. appt tommorrow and I'm losing my mind with the normal mommy worries and Jon is taking it all with a grain of salt, telling me everything is okay. We'll see tomorrow! Update again soon!
